A very important part of a complete localization process is the ‘in-country review’ to ensure quality and safety in medical translations. An in-country reviewer provides feedback on company and product specific terminology for the target markets. There may be local regulations and compliance issues that only the in-country expert would know about. Quality can be improved with their in-depth product knowledge and terminology suggestions. It works best to have the reviewer involved early on in the project especially during glossary development. Over time, the database and glossaries are built up with “reviewer approved” translations, which can be used over and over and improve the quality of the end product.
